SkylerAI

Intern

June - August 2022 • New York City, NY

What I liked

My summer internship at SkylerAI was a phenomenal experience. I worked directly with the CEO, Ron, and I am incredibly grateful that he placed his trust in me and gave me the tools and support to make an impact on the company. Ron spent hours on the phone teaching me the ins and outs of how to run a technology startup and it opened my eyes to the importance of this technology. I felt empowered in this internship and I was appropriately challenged. I was given the chance to actually make an impact. I enjoyed working with the other interns and I learned so much from them. As a pre-health student, I particularly enjoyed working in the healthcare vertical and because of this internship, I hope to work in medical technology in some capacity in the future. I know the skills I learned this summer will take me far. I am thankful to Ron for helping me further develop as an aspiring entrepreneur and leader in my field. Thank you.

Advice

It is important to be open-minded in this internship. Because it is a startup, you have the ability to work in all spheres of the business. I learned so much by taking advantage of the many and different opportunities Ron provided.

Business Development Intern

June - August 2021 • Houston, TX

What I liked

As someone who is very unsure about their future, Skyler allowed me to really branch out and work in a variety of different fields doing a variety of tasks. With their multiple verticals (healthcare, real estate, politics, and nonprofit) I was able to get experience of how businesses operate from a variety of different angles. As a startup tasks were very flexible as the main goal was to just progress the company forward with everything we did. A great internship to get workplace experience.

What I wish was different

The biggest inhibitor was that the job was remote, but at the same time all of the employees were well connected and able to communicate efficiently.

Advice

The biggest piece of advice I can give is to come into the job with an open mind. You can choose your main focus within the job but assignments will be very fluid and changing. The lack of monotony made this job interesting and helped combat the zoom fatigue of a remote job.

What I liked

I was a project manager for an undergraduate consulting organization and I really like working with SkylerAI. The point of contact, Ron, was always available to meet when needed and he gave us interesting tasks to do. SkylerAI is a very cool company and I'm glad that I had the opportunity to work with them.

What I liked

Doing an internship at SkylerAI was eye-opening in that I was quickly immersed in projects from day one, while also catering to my academic knowledge and aspirations. In my first meeting with the CEO, he asked me what I wanted to get out of the internship and was very straight-forward with me on how I can make the biggest impact.

Take the time to find the opportunities you want within the experience. If you ask to be involved in a specific project, you will likely be able to find a way to be involved. It's a very customizable experience.

What I liked

Skyler AI allows interns to have direct and constant contact with top-level staff. The CEO took time to demo the systems and teach all of the interns about the markets that Skyer AI is currently penetrating. Overall, this is a very individualized and unique experience that cannot be replicated in any other internship.
