RTI Surgical

Manufacturing Engineering Intern

August 2020 • Greenville, NC

What I liked

Learning more about working in industry and earning skills that would help me get the job I want after graduation. It is not likely to get that experience from classes alone. Internships help develop professional skills and help you learn more about your own interests.

What I wish was different

I wish I had had more guidance when I first got the position. It kind of felt like I was just thrown into a position and given tasks I had little knowledge of. Being given more context and maybe having a mentor of sorts during my first couple of weeks might have helped me better adjust to the new experience.

Advice

Learn everything you can and don't be afraid to ask questions. If this is your first internship, use it to your advantage. Take on different types of projects that will expose you to new opportunities and experiences. This is the best way to learn what you like and don't like.

quality engineer

June - August 2018 • Marquette, MI

What I liked

Great working environment and culture.

What I wish was different

Wish I had started earlier as an intern instead of temporary position as an associate.

Advice

Great place to work if you’re willing to apply yourself. Ask questions and ask for more work if you finish assigned tasks.
