I like working with the dogs and seeing that I can help an animal be safe and healthy is a good feeling.
What I wish was different
I am still in the job but I do wish that the manager would understand that school, other engagements and mental health is important.
Advice
One piece of advice that I would share about this experience is to not wear your new jeans to work. There is a whole lot of hands on activity and you need to be on your a game every second.

What I liked
I love working here is it an amazing experience. I love getting to help people get the proper set ups for their new babies. One of the best parts is getting to hear updates on their pets from guests I’ve helped before.

What I liked
Giving Back to the animal community in a loving way for those that were previously poorly treated, Opening the puppies and kittens lives back up to a healthy relationship full of caring and animosity towards one another.
What I wish was different
I wish I could've done it longer as well as influence more people to adopt the pets into a loving household as many customers simply came by just for their own pleasure to pet them. Even possibly myself adopting or fostering a couple of them to really do as much as i can for my little Chicken Nugget Puppies would've made me so much happier.
Advice
Simply showering the animals with love and affection is all they really need. Though becoming more then just someone that pets and plays with them but instead truly shows their caring by picking up after multiple animals is what will change their lives positively.

What I liked
I love helping animals find forever homes with customers who care and are prepared to properly take care of them.
What I wish was different
I wish I would have had more time throughout the summer to go outdoors. Besides the 2.5 week 5,000 mile camping road trip I took at the beginning of the summer I didn't get outside too much.
Advice
I would say enjoy the world around you but remember the importance of earning a good build up of money so you can be more comfortable throughout the school year.

I loved that they have an apprenticeship program to teach you how to train dogs. It is a great start if you want to pursue a dog training career or just as a fun job in college.
What I wish was different
I wish they had more support from other trainers once you graduate.
Advice
Be calm when you're training.

What I liked
A perfect work day is being surrounded by animals and giving the opportunities for people to learn and be just as excited and passionate as I am for animals.
What I wish was different
You can't wish for anything to be different. It wouldn't have been the same experience and I wouldn't have learned the things I did if things happened a different way. I'm very grateful to have worked with some of the kindest people who all connect through the loving care of our animals and your pets.
Advice
No matter what kind of people you work with or the customers you come across, there will always be those people that keep you coming back. "People-pleasers " this is your calling. Petco is a great place to work.
