I enjooyed exploring other fields outside of my major a well as the continous different envionremnts and task we were assigned daily.
What I wish was different
I do wish the internship provided the training section with more hands on rather then reading a booklet and note taking. For a position as such, I believe the best learning would be done through real scenarios of practice

If the position is available, take it. This is such a humbling expereince you do not want to pass on it.

I liked working so closely with animals and animal care every day. It made me happy to go to work knowing I got to be around pets and learn about different animal care techniques.
What I wish was different
I wish that it paid more. Unfortunately I could not survive off of $15 an hour at part-time employement.
Advice
I would say be detail oriented. Animal care is very tedious and necessitates a careful eye!

I worked with great people and the animals were a lot of fun.
What I wish was different
I was usually managing the front of the store by myself, which was difficult when there would be a line of twenty people needing to check out, five people wanting to make a grooming appointment for their dogs, ten people needing to pick up online orders, someone wanting to buy a tarantula, and someone else wanting to buy ten rats.
Advice
Be openminded and try to be patient, even when it gets super busy.

What I liked
I have gained so much experience, from being able to properly communicate with people, helping people, learning how to properly care for animals, teamwork, leadership skills, manager duties, and so much more.
What I wish was different
There has been points where the management was poor which made it a hard environment to work in, as well as a very low staffed store.
Advice
I have throughly enjoyed my job and it has helped give me a sense of the future, being able to balance between school, work, and life. I think it important to have experiences like these and I recommend them for everyone.

Even if you think you can't do it even one shred of doubt just discard it. You should still go for it; apply to tons of jobs, internships, or anything else you're going for. There is no disadvantage to trying the only bad thing is never trying at all.
