Since we are self-funded and don’t have outside investors, we can move quickly without constraints when committing capital to a new venture. While trading got us our start and still powers our center, we quickly realized that our vision was to embrace and empower today’s consumer through technology—by simplifying processes, improving performance and creating new wealth. Together, our team has built industry-leading companies like PEAK6 Capital Management, OptionsHouse (acquired by E-Trade in 2016) and Apex Clearing, which alone has helped launch 60+ fintech startups, including some of today’s most widely used commission-free investing apps. We have also stepped outside of our comfort zone by acquiring new endeavors like esports team Evil Geniuses and National Flood Services (NFS).
