I was able to learn different aspects of the accounting department and gain real world experience in performing reconciliations, performing audit tests, and making recommendations to management concerning controls in place.
What I wish was different
I wish I was able to gain a better insight towards the financial side of the business and more specifically how the financials are analyzed.
Advice
My advice would be to go into any internship open minded and willing to ask questions. You'll be surprised by how much management respects genuine questions and the willingness to learn.
