You get placed on a team that’s supposed to be in line with your future goals/major/career aspirations. My team was completely random and I disliked the entire experience. Your team and what they do sets the whole pace for the summer, and so I wish that was communicated more explicitly.
Advice
Try out something, even if you don’t think the position is for you. You get experience, meet a lot of important and helpful people, and narrow down your future goals.

What I liked
I had the opportunity to complete four 2-week rotations across desks within the Institutional Equity Division. These rotations provided me with enough time to learn, complete projects, and network while also allowing me to experience as many different desks as possible.
What I wish was different
I wish I had been provided with more in-depth desk descriptions a week or two prior to the start of my internship.
Advice
Be willing to rely upon fellow interns and the junior members of desks when you have questions or concerns. It is always better to clarify confusion than to allow it to develop into a misunderstanding or mistake.
