What I liked
I enjoyed being able to work on an individual project, rather than doing random tasks every day. I was given clear expectations and deadlines at the start of my internship. I also got to sit in on multiple meetings and even had the opportunity to go on a 2 day business trip. I met with other interns at the Department of Human Services on a bi weekly basis.
What I wish was different
At times being the only person under the age of 25 in my unit was difficult and I would have enjoyed spending more time with other interns.
Advice
Make sure you are comfortable asking questions and communicating about concerns with your boss. This internship is centered around each intern completing a specific project for the unit that they are a part of and sometimes the deadlines can be difficult to meet or the expectations aren't clear. It is okay to ask for help!
