What I liked

The people I worked with, and my hours.

What I wish was different

They wouldn't promote me or give me a proper raise, even though I had the experience and drive, because I became only summer available.

Advice

Be patient with customers and ask your managers questions.

What I liked

I enjoyed the people I worked with and the customers I would come across from time to time. I learn a lot during my interactions with the many people I came across.

What I wish was different

I wish we had better working conditions. The job was very demanding especially since we were always deficient on something (i.e. ice cream machine was always broken, A/C would break down over the summer).

Advice

McDonald’s is enjoyable as a starter job! I learned so much for it being my first job. I definitely learned a lot about customer service and understood the workings of a fast-food restaurant, I definitely have a lot more respect for people who work in the food industry.
