It was really useful and interesting to learn how the government funded institute gathers, analyzes, and presents information regarding the economy and how they use their research to make economic policies better.

Nothing. It was a great experience.
Advice
Try to talk to the employees there and learn as much as possible.
Since senior researchers are very busy, you should reach out to them in order to actually learn from them.
