IOTG Finance Intern

May - August 2018 • Chandler, AZ

What I liked

I liked the environment and the people I worked with. It was a very challenging experience but an incredibly rewarding experience as well. I enjoyed receiving hands on experience in the real world of corporate finance.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have taken the internship position in another city other than AZ. It would have been neat to explore a new territory.

Advice

Apply to internships early!! Many employers look for students that are actively seeking internships for the summer who are applying in the fall. Internships are great ways to obtain real world experience in your field and can help you get a job after graduation. It was neat to see concepts that were taught in class applied to a real life situation in the company. Work on your networking skills and actively seek for opportunities to further your career.

Supply Chain Intern

May - August 2018 • Folsom, CA

What I liked

I had real responsibilities that contributed to Intel successfully getting product to customers. My manager trusted me with full time employee work and gave me good insight to what work would be like as a full time employee. The culture at Intel is awesome--so many smart people who are very willing to share their experience and knowledge with me.

What I wish was different

Advice

Meet as many people as you can and ask them what they do. People love to talk about their work and it's a cool way to see what other work is being done at Intel. Ask lots of questions! It's okay that you don't know, just show a willingness to work.

Signal Processing Intern

May - August 2018 • San Jose, CA

What I liked

I had a really great manager who cared a lot about my personal development. I got a chance to DJ for numerous events and work on a project I was very passionate about.

What I wish was different

My work group was very tight, but I didn't have as much contact with interns in other locations at Intel which would have been nice.

Advice

Focus on your own development and take advantage when you have an intern. If you are being paid, you are an employee so never act like you are "just an intern". People want to help, so building a network is very important for the future.

Firmware Engineer Intern

June - August 2018 • Allentown, PA

What I liked

I loved the atmosphere of the group I worked in. Everything was very laid back but everybody was productive and helpful. There were many bonding activities for employees which really helped toward the great atmosphere. I really enjoyed my time here.

What I wish was different

This is not any fault of the people in the company, I just didn't necessarily like the area where the job is located. However, others may have different views on this.

Advice

This is a great experience, I would definitely recommend it!

Marketing Intern

June 2018 • Hillsboro, OR

What I liked

The professionalism with the marketing team. Out of all my years working in multiple industries, my team tops all of my previous experiences when it comes to team collaboration, management and overall fun!

What I wish was different

This internship is unique as it's longer than 3 months, the return offer won't be with my team as they are mostly senior. Would wish their pay grades would be more relative with mine.

Advice

Always network! Especially with my position, it's important to know as many people as possible so you can safely transition out of the internship and land a permanent position in the company!

What I liked

I greatly enjoyed working with my fellow coworkers. They were always so accepting and flexible, and are what made this experience truly enjoyable. The experience and skills that I have gained from this opportunity have already begun to help me in my education, and it is clearly going to benefit my future careers as well.
