What I liked

I enjoyed the real world experience and having the opportunity to apply my projects from school to their growing business. The choice to do an internship over the summer was a great way to keep my education and experience growing in between semesters.

What I wish was different

I wish it was a full time internship with more financial projects. My experience was a lot of market data research. However, this was helpful in teaching me important business considerations surrounding start ups I would have never otherwise learned.

Advice

I would encourage people to participate in an internship experience! You don’t have to be set on a traditional role in a big firm. My experience was with a start up and I learned a lot with my time working there and I was able to meet a lot of people in the entrepreneurial community. Ask questions and take on any responsibility they throw at you. Also keep in mind, your professors are always there to answer any project questions you have going forward.
