Engineering

May - August 2021 • Kansas City, MO

What I liked

The city was a good environment for college students. Plenty to do in the city. The pay is really good for a college student. The fellow interns are really great.

What I wish was different

The people you work with are all older and have kids. Everything is classified so you cant talk about what you do. The background investigations take forever and they peer into every aspect of your life.

Advice

Try this employer/location out. If you like it, you'll know. Worst case scenario, you get good pay, a good resume boost, and good life lessons. Just push yourself to learn.

Aerospace (Wheels and Brakes) FFL Intern

June - August 2020 • Phoenix, AZ

What I liked

The Honeywell FFL Intern experience is truly unique. My experience took place during the beginning of the COVID 19 pandemic, yet the people I met virtually made it seem like I had been with them in person from the start. The people of Honeywell are kind and want you to succeed in every aspect of your internship experience. Even the fellow interns you meet will change your experience for the better and end up being some of the best people you meet.

Future Finance Leader Intern

June - August 2020 • Phoenix, AZ

What I liked

Working for Honeywell was an incredible experience, full of tons of learning opportunities and helpful people. I was working in Aerospace integrated supply chain as an intern, but still had the opportunity to learn and hear about all the other opportunities within the organization. I am now working full time for Honeywell in their FFL program in Honeywell building technologies out of Atlanta in global FP&A, where they have a strong emphasis on career building and continuous learning which I love!

What I wish was different

Nothing! Although I worked online due to covid, and am now currently working from home, the program is just as strong as ever.

Advice

Reach out to as many people as you can! Everyone wants to see you do your best!

Financial Analyst Intern

June - August 2020 • Mason, OH

What I liked

My favorite part of this internship was the coworkers I had. Everyone was so helpful and was very generous with their time. I also enjoyed difficulty level for my main project. It forced me to step out of my comfort zone and was a good preview to prepare me for my full time role I have now at Honeywell.

What I wish was different

I wish I had been able to work in office down in Mason, OH so I could meet my coworkers in person.

Advice

There are a lot of acronyms used that are Honeywell specific so I would write them all down to refer back to otherwise you’ll struggle to understand what people are talking about.

Future Finance Leader Intern

June - August 2020 • Houston, TX

What I liked

I was given control of my own individual project. What I was doing took thought and taught me a lot about adaptability. The FFL program and my manager did a great job of maintaining contact and continuing networking efforts despite being a remote format.

What I wish was different

Having slightly more structure to my intern project would have given me a better idea of what a full-time role was going to look like.

Advice

Keep an open mind and stay flexible when faced with adversity during the internship process.

What I liked

Very professional atmosphere, supportive staff, and company culture.

Did not receive a lot of work, I don't believe I gained too much insight into the finance industry. This is because it was the first time they ever did the internship completely online (due to COVID).

Performance Engineering Intern

May 2019 • Phoenix, AZ

What I liked

My internship allowed me to get hands on experience in the engineering field. I was assigned amazing mentors and given real tasks that actually made a difference.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have started sooner.

Advice

I applied to many different places and really didn't consider Honeywell as an employer I wanted to work for. I came across their booth in the career fair last minute and ended up scoring an interview right there. I would advise to keep an open mind and look for jobs even in places you might not think will fit you. I was surprised with how much I loved my internship and I will be starting full time once I graduate.
