Festival Programming Intern
May - August 2017 • Chicago, IL
What I liked
I had a boss who was very kind and also pushed me to work at the highest standard. The coworkers were amazing to work with, and always up for stimulating conversation. On top of that, the job allowed a lot of agency for the workers
What I wish was different
- I think more internal relations events between interns. There was a weekly seminar, but other than that, I only got really close with about 2-3 co-workers.
Advice
Definitely don't be passive, and pound the pavement from clocking in to clocking out. While there are breaks and days off allowed, definitely don't take it for granted. That was definitely what set apart the kids there to work and learn, and the kids who were there to hang out and lollygag.
