What I liked

I enjoyed the opportunity to take part in a large corporation and recognizable brand and to learn the behind-the-scenes work of an international company. I enjoyed hands-on experience with new data systems that are specific to Enterprise. They offer a great opportunity to demonstrate learning adaptability.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have been challenged more to create a project for the company. I believe I have many useful ideas and that Enterprise should take advantage of interns' creative minds. After all, their slogan came from an intern.

Advice

Be ready to invest yourself. There are long hours available if you want them, and you'll be exposed to the elements like rain and heat if you intern at the Omaha Eppley Airfield location.

What I liked

I love how Enterprise really invested in me as a person, and took the time to train me. I learned a lot of things revolving around running a rental car business, sales, but mostly learned about customer service. Not only did I work in an airport setting, but I was also able to work at a home location as well. Being in an airport setting, I met a lot of interesting people like the CEO, regional manager, and Debbie Ryan, who played as “Jessie” in a Disney show.

What I wish was different

It was very time consuming, and worked full time including the weekends. I wish I had more days to relax and stay home.

Advice

I would advise to really be on your feet because this job takes a lot of your energy throughout the day walking around. I drove cars around, helped with customers luggage, stood at the counter, welcomed customers in, helped take customers to their rental cars, checking customers out of their rental car, and helped clean cars when it was backed up. Rain, the hot sun, or wind didn’t stop us from being outside helping customers. It was a great learning experience, but this isn’t a place to sit and be lazy.

I wish the training was done a little different. Great training just wanted T1 training to be done after T2 training.

Take advantage of the experience. The area managers and regional managers have a lot of knowledge and help a lot.

I learned many valuable skills in this fast-paced work environment that I will be able to apply in whatever it is I decide to pursue following graduation, and I have had lots of fun in the process! What I liked

I loved the people I worked with and just the entire company culture. Everyone is very young and fun and relatable. I loved driving the cars and being in different locations throughout the day.

What I wish was different

I wish I got paid more and I wish I was able to work for longer, the internship time frame was very short and only lasted 90 days.

Try your best and don't get discouraged by angry customers.

I wish I had been able to be at more than one location so I could learn to adjust to different customers, their needs, and the fleet sizes.

Advice

Ask questions. Never ever stop. It means a lot to those who came before you and will teach those who come after you that it is beneficial to learn more. Those around you want to see you succeed and will get you to where you need to be in the sales, marketing, and administrative world. All you need to do is seek them out.

The amount of business related experience and knowledge. Even as a trainee you're shown how to run your own rental branch.

What I wish was different

It's not the easiest job in the world. You'll have to handle customers from all kinds of backgrounds.

This job does have a steep learning curve, but you can't beat the knowledge you'll gain in the short time of working there. 7 months in and I could operate the branch without any oversight. I call this job business boot camp. They also have a fantastic internship position

What I liked

I liked the experience that I got there with selling their extra coverage on the vehicles that they were renting everyday, I liked being able to drive the cars and help wash them and make sure they looked good for the next customer.

What I wish was different

There wasn't much that I wish were different I just wish that there was more in depth talk about the coverage that we were selling cause I got confused every once and awhile on what exactly I was trying to sell.

Advice

If you like cars and sales then you'll definitely really enjoy this job and the experience it gives you! If you like to be more busy, go to a bigger branch, if you like to be semi busy, then go to a smaller branch.
