There have been a lot of changes in the company. It's hard to get my bearings with all the change.

Advice

Take initiative and be proactive in the role. And don't give up looking for a role.

What I liked

I enjoyed my internship experience at Dow because I was given freedom to explore the corporate finance world. Dow’s open door policy allowed me to shadow professionals in robotics, treasury, and financial reporting - departments in which I have great interest.

Human Resources Payroll Co-Op

What I liked

I enjoyed the freedom that I had to come and go when needed within the business hours. I was able to pick the times I wanted to work between 7:30-5pm and choose to take an hour or 30 minute lunch. I also really enjoyed my work environment and co-workers and was able to see what payroll, benefits, compensations and talent lifecycle functions do on a daily basis.

What I wish was different

I really enjoyed my time. I was busy with work throughout the year I spent there.

Advice

Get to know those who you work with and others in functions of the business that you are interested in. Networking and making connections helped me see what Dow has to offer and the different roles they offer. It also allowed me to make personal connections of those I worked with that helped me feel apart of an awesome work family!

Very friendly and helpful work environment and the organizational culture is inclusive with a focus on success

I wish I had more time in the role. I was just beginning to get a good understanding of my tasks when the internship ended.

Advice

Stay focused, complete your work quickly and efficiently, be approachable and memorable and most of all - build a network with as many people as possible while you have the oppprtunity
