Loved the opportunity to make connections with Doctors and Nurses and learn from their experiences in the medical field. It was also great to care directly for patients and apply my EMT skills in a clinical setting.

Phlebotomist
May 2018 • Lakewood, CO
What I liked
I love working in a hospital because I know the work I do is helping doctors develop treatment plans so patients can get better. I also love talking to patients. My goal every time I interact with a patient is to make them smile. That’s what makes me happy.
What I wish was different
I wish I would have worked more hours so to be a better phlebotomist. I am always looking to improve.
Advice
Working in a laboratory is a great experience, but make sure you can handle seeing almost every body fluid imaginable. You really have to have a tough stomach to do what I do.
