End User Service Specialist Intern

May - August 2020 • Fort Lauderdale, FL

What I liked

There are many opportunities here for self starters who have skills to bring to the table. Everybody wants to see you to grow, but won't pressure you. Interning at Citrix is an excellent learning experience in a corporate culture, with an opportunity to work alongside senior staff. In my position, I met several Security and IT engineers which was an invaluable experience. Even if you're still in school and still learning, you will have opportunities to bring value to your team and participate in projects.

What I wish was different

My position was virtual due to covid-19. There wasn't as much social interaction as there might have been prior to the pandemic. However, seeing as this was unprecedented the internship experience should be improved now.

Advice

To make the most out working at Citrix: make sure you demonstrate what you can do for them. You probably will be assigned projects to display your skills, but also try to network with management and show how much value you could bring in a full-time position.

Sales Program Intern

May - August 2019 • Fort Lauderdale, FL

What I liked

Citrix has an admirable corporate culture and its people were absolutely amazing throughout my journey. Senior executives were willing to share their experiences and connect with interns on a daily basis and most of my coworkers were eager to share their Citrix journeys with me and help me grow professionally and personally. The company makes sure that you feel at home and there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the professional setting that the Citrix campus has to offer: from a gym to silent lounges with massage chairs and plenty of "privacy rooms" and booths, to healthy snacks and networking events hosted on campus, as an employee you have it all. Aside from this, there is a strong presence of sustainability and social responsibility efforts, which is something that I value a lot in a company.

What I wish was different

I would have liked to have more personal projects to work on, and have a rotational portion to the internship for the first few weeks.

Advice

Work hard and build connections with the amazing people that are part of this organization.

Automations Intern

May - August 2019 • Fort Lauderdale, FL

What I liked

Tons of autonomy and responsibility. Additionally, great benefits for interns and a huge network of interns to meet and work with. My boss also went to UM and had the same major as me, so I was able to create a great bond and share experiences with each other. I learned a new coding language on the job, which was very valuable for job recruiting this fall.

What I wish was different

The pay was low for the complexity of the projects and high value that was produced by interns. Nothing else.

Advice

If you are uncomfortable with the difficulty of the work you are presented or feel some type of imposter syndrome, work hard and push through it.

What I wish was different

I wish I had more chances to sell products to customers.

Advice

This was a very transformative experience. I was able to really picture myself at the company. They give you real work not specific work for interns and that is awesome in my opinion.
