Children and Screens: Institute of Digital Media and Child Development

About Children and Screens: Institute of Digital Media and Child Development

Children and Screens: Institute of Digital Media and Child Development is an international non-profit organization founded in 2013 to support and advance objective scientific research bridging the medical, neuroscientific, social science, public health, education, and academic communities.

The organization seeks to address three urgent questions: How is digital media enhancing or impairing children’s ability to live happy, healthy and productive lives? How do these interactions at home, school and within their communities shape their cognitive, psychological and physical development? And, what should we do about it?

Children and Screens accomplishes its mission by funding research by top interdisciplinary experts, convening conferences and research retreats, publishing in leading journals and developing human capital in the field. It also educates and informs the public through media, workshops, and panels; and is a trusted resource for media and policymakers to learn and understand the evidence-based research bearing on this important issue.

Children and Screens is currently seeking interns to assist the President and staff.

“The small nature of the institute meant that interns got to work hands on on different projects. I loved working in cross-functional teams with interns from different departments; it was a great lesson in collaboration.”
