BUILD EXITO is an undergraduate research training program that supports students on their pathway to become scientific researchers. PSU received a major grant from the National Institutes of Health to serve as a center for innovation to help undergraduates, including those from diverse backgrounds, be successful in health research careers. Oregon Health and Sciences University serves as the research intensive partner, providing crucial support, guidance, and expertise as PSU develops and implements EXITO. EXITO represents a partnership between PSU, PCC, Clackamas Community College, Chemeketa Community College, American Samoa Community College, Clark College, Northern Marianas College, University of Alaska Anchorage and University of Hawai'i.
The BUILD EXITO Model aims to identify students early in their college career and engage them in finding solutions to today's major health problems. Students at PSU and our BUILD EXITO partnering community colleges and universities will have hands-on research experience at every stage of their undergraduate education.
