What I liked
I worked for the Food Services department of BYUH for almost a year. It really was a great experience! I only left because I had to leave for my internship. As a Marketing and Social Media Specialist, I learned to apply the lessons that I learned from my classes.
What I wish was different
I wish I was given more opportunities to learn about marketing, but I guess I would have received that opportunity if I work in an Advertising agency or a bigger firm.
Advice
It is a good startup work experience to kick off your career.

This is a great job to be able to study at silloutte no calls come in. Be sure to learn how to properly report incidents.

Workplace. Great management and leaders. The best place to gain experience and enhance my skills in finance.
What I wish was different
Work more on sales. But in my work right now, we still ask people to pay their outstanding balance which is similar to doing sales.
Advice
Accounting is one of my weakness. It is really difficult for me personal when I started working in my job right now. But because the management is great and they trusted me that I would be able to learn my assignment quickly, I was able to fulfill my responsibilities and was trusted to become accounts receivable supervisor. Never underestimate your potential.

If your job stresses you out or makes you have any negative feelings find another job. I left a toxic work environment to come work at Facilities Management and it changed my life for the better.

The job offers so many opportunities to learn new skills and apply them directly. We also have the opportunity to collaborate with others who have great experience and apply it into our work process. It is amazing to be able to see the results of what you are working on instantly.

It would be nice to have more contact with the departments that we work closely with. Because of our office location it can be difficult to collaborate as often as we would like to.

This Job was created specifically for my major and career path, to help me learn what I needed for my future studies and career. The department is tight-knit and it was fun to collaborate with my co-workers to reach our goals.

The beginning was difficult because of the lack of organization or direction for what I was supposed to do. But that was to be expected since the job never existed before.
Advice
BYU Hawaii is an excellent place to find unique opportunities through personal connections.
