Big Apple Children Services is an Early Intervention program that provides therapeutic services for children birth to 3 years old in all 5 boroughs. We are a program funded by the NYC department of health. We provide Evaluations, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Special Education Instruction, Social Work and Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) for those on the autism spectrum. We are currently seeking professional in any of these disciplines to work with our agency.
1. Speech Therapist
Diagnoses and treats speech and language problems, and engages in scientific study of human communication. Evaluates speech and language skills as related to educational, medical, social, and psychological factors. Plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication problems. Responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, cognitive, communication, voice, swallowing, fluency, and other related disorders. Maintains records, monitors progress.
-May require a certificate of clinical competence in speech-language pathology (CCC).
-Requires a master's degree of speech-language pathology.
-Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.
2.Behavioral Therapists (Licensed Behavioral Analyst-BCBA)
We are looking for highly motivated BCBAs who are licensed in New York and have experience conducting assessments (e.g. ABLLS, AFLS, VB-MAPP, experimental FA methods, and more), providing staff and family training, and providing staff supervision.
The LBA/BCBA must be a seasoned clinician from an ABAI-approved program and have a strong passion to provide top-quality behavior analytic services to children, adolescents, and young adults with autism. Outstanding communication, analytical, and time management skills are a must along with a superior work ethic.

Requirements:
1. Minimum of a High School diploma or its equivalent and 2+ years of full-time direct, supervised experience working with individuals with disabilities between 3 and 18 years of age, or
2. Associate’s degree or higher level degree and certification as a teaching assistant, or
3. Enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in a University program majoring in ABA, Psychology, or Education
3.Occupational Therapist
Occupational therapists work with people who have difficulty with fine and gross motor development.
In terms of educational requirements, occupational therapists must have at least a master’s degree. Their degree field must be in occupational therapy and they will need a state license to practice. Other important training to have includes CPR and BCLS. Personal skills to have includes excellence in communication and interactions with others and compassion as well as patience. Other useful skills include such things as writing.

• * Passed the NBCOT exam
4. Physical Therapist
Physical Therapists needed to provide home based evaluations and ongoing therapy to children between birth and three who are referred or are receiving services through the NYC Early Intervention Program. Must have New York State license and NYSDOH approval to provide Early Intervention. Bilingual a plus. EOE. They will also collaborate with other therapists and professionals of other disciplines..

5.Special Instructor
ABA Special Education Teacher
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Providing ABA special instruction to children aged 0-3 in the Early
Intervention program,
Conducting one-on-one sessions with children to improve their development of
cognition, behavioral, communication, self-help and social emotional skills;
Creating a program book and instructional materials to support and measure
child’s progress, and implement achievable functional goals;
Developing and implementing individualized services plans for assigned cases
to meet the child’s specific needs, interests and abilities;
Collaborating with parents and the interdisciplinary team members such as
speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, social workers,
etc., to develop and or modify program activities in order to maximize the
child’s functional skills;
Training parents in carry over activities and techniques to promote the
child’s functional and behavioral development throughout the week and in
between sessions;
Preparing daily session notes, quarterly progress reports, and or
justification letters, and document the child’s progress toward meeting
established objectives and according to Early Intervention rules and
regulations;
Participating in interdisciplinary team conferences, parent conferences,
case conferences, as mandated.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Education : Master’s Degree in Special Education
Certification: MOD I or TIER I Exam, Students with Disabilities Birth – 2
Initial or Professional certification OR Permanent Special Education certificate
OR Permanent TSHH certificate OR TSLD Initial or Professional certification OR
NYS certified School Psychologist.
Experience: Early Intervention and/or home-based experience preferred, but not
required.
Communication Skills: Bilingual English/Spanish a plus, but not required.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office skills

6.Social Worker
Our trans-disciplinary teams provide therapy and support to hundreds of families each year through our community and home-based services. Trans-disciplinary teams may include Special Educators, Social Workers, and Speech, Physical, and Occupational Therapists.
Educational and Licensing Requirements of Early Intervention Social Worker:
• MSW and current Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)
• Evaluations and assessments,
• Curriculum development and group work,
• Development of individualized service plans and multi-developmental services
• Service coordination
• Parent support and education.
• Weekly supervision
• Attending regular in-service trainings
• Maintaining competency in the field via continued education
Skills & Experience of Early Intervention Social Worker:
• Experience with infants, toddlers and families preferred.
• Highly organized with solid time management skills
• Adaptable to a fast-paced work environment.
• PC literacy and experience with MS Office Applications
7. Psychologist
Duties and Responsibilities: Psychologists provide early intervention customers (ages 0-3yrs) with home-based psychology services in accordance with team-based approach model. Psychologists will perform the following: perform services in the child’s natural environment; communicate closely with parents/guardians; be incorporated into the team as needed; participate in team meetings as needed; generate notes/reports; provide CPS mandatory reporter duties; have familiarity with and utilize the limited English proficiency policy; use an evidence-based clinical approach; administer psychological and developmental tests and other assessment procedures; interpret assessment results; obtain, integrate, and interpret information about child behavior and child and family conditions related to learning, mental health, and development; and plan and manage a program of psychological counseling for children and parents, family counseling, consultation on child development, parent training, and education programs.
Psychologists must be available to support the core team and to work with the family in the implementation of the IFSP. Psychologists are not part of the core team but may act as Team Lead as necessary.
Minimum qualifications for education, training, and experience: The minimum education qualification for a psychologist is a Doctoral degree within the field from an accredited institution. The psychologist must have a current, valid NYS license from the State Board of Psychology Examiners to practice psychology or certified by the Department of Education as a school psychologist.
The psychologist must know and act within their scope of practice. Additional certifications and documents required before engaging in service provision include: a resume, 3 verbally confirmed letters of reference, Article 9 training, HIPPA training, background check through E-Verify, Central Registry Background Check, valid fingerprint clearance card, valid professional liability insurance, valid infant/child/adult CPR, Criminal Record and Self-Disclosure form notarized within 30 days, confirmed AHCCCS number, confirmed NPI number, social security card or valid passport, valid auto insurance and valid driver’s license. Experience working with early intervention customers is preferred. If a psychologist meets all of the above qualifications but lacks experience working with the early intervention population they will be assigned a mentor in their field who will be available to them as a resource. Psychologists will be hired as employees.
