Beyond the Bomb

About Beyond the Bomb

Beyond the Bomb is a people-powered campaign working to free our planet from nuclear violence.

Our activists work to build power every day on the local, state, and national levels to prevent nuclear war and put an end to the exploitative and morally bankrupt system that support these horrific weapons.
Catastrophic Risks

Experts agree the risk of nuclear war is higher now than at any point in history. All it will take is one mistake, miscalculation, or moment of madness. We must back away from the brink.
Communities
Communities

The U.S. alone will spend at least $1.7 trillion dollars on nuclear weapons, lining the pockets of warmongers and profiteers. These taxpayer dollars must be diverted to the things that matter most: healthcare, education, safety nets and the environment.
Democracy
Democracy

The nuclear launch process is deeply anti-democratic. In the United States, the decision to end life on Earth as we know it rests exclusively in the hands of Donald Trump. There are zero checks and balances on this power.
Oppression
Oppression

Nuclear violence — and even the threat of it — reinforces oppressive systems of white supremacy and patriarchy. The nuclear system is built on the premise of “might makes right” and a desire for order that benefits the few at the expense of the many.
Humanitarian Impact
Humanitarian Impact

The use of even a single nuclear weapon anywhere in the world would be a humanitarian, environmental and economic catastrophe on a global scale. We can’t wait for nuclear weapons to be used before we act.
Exploitation
Exploitation

Nuclear weapons production, testing, and waste cause serious and lasting harm to vulnerable and marginalized communities. We cannot allow this profiteering to continue on the backs of Indigenous communities and people of color.
Transparency
Transparency

The nuclear system is designed to remove our agency. Elite gatekeepers confine the issue to war rooms, classified documents and “expert” discussions, telling us it’s too complicated, that they know better. It’s not and they don’t.
Morality
Morality

Nuclear weapons are the ultimate expression of how little we value the sanctity of human life and the health of the planet. The ability to destroy entire nations is an affront to universal values.

Campaign Intern

June 2019 - August 2019 Washington, DC
“Excellent work experience with a great team in a functional office. They provided a lot of extras and benefits that would not be had at another internship. Highly recommend this to anyone interested in advocacy. ”
