About Cultural Mixology

Cultural Mixology designs, delivers, and facilitates programs that build and enhance cultural competencies in the workplace. We serve as a strategic thinking partner, through coaching, training, mentoring, and consulting, to support individuals and organizations that want to thrive across cultures.

We help:
- Individuals who want to reach their highest potential and explore how they can use existing strengths to turn personal or professional goals into reality.

- Organizations who are concerned about moving key executives abroad get those leaders prepared for thriving in a new and unfamiliar environment. The leader hits the ground running and the families have the tools necessary to flourish in what would otherwise be a stressful transition.

- Multicultural teams learn the critical skills and behaviors needed to enhance collaboration and trust, key attributes of a high-impact cohesive team.

- Educators understand ethnocentricity so they can enhance their teaching philosophies, maximize the value of diversity, and mitigate the challenges present in a global learning environment.

- Students who study in a foreign language learn to cope with the stress inherent in the transition process into a new culture.

Cultural Mixology is a NYC certified Women-owned Business Enterprise (WBE).

Reviews

Intern

June 2021 - July 2021 Washington, DC
“I worked as a remote intern for Cultural Mixology in the summer of 2021. Most of my work was related to crafting monthly newsletters and editing the ebook. My mentor Jamie was super flexible and encouraged me to provide my input. I was independent but very much supported. I felt like a valuable part of the team and Jamie took every opportunity to answer my questions and explain how things worked. Jamie was always happy to offer advice and even helped me to network. I had a great time interning at Cultural Mixology and I learned a lot! ”

Writing Intern

June 2019 - July 2019 New York City, NY
“During the summer of 2019 I worked remotely with Jamie Gelbtuch at Cultural Mixology; my role was mainly drafting and designing a short ebook on topics related to cultural competency for marketing purposes. Throughout the process, Jamie was not only a manager but an invaluable mentor during one of the most challenging and isolating periods of the pandemic for a rising college senior seeking career development. While we worked on the project, Jamie really took the time to focus on my own growth and what I could take away from the experience – I learned so much about marketing, client relationships, cultural competency, psychology in the workplace, and business writing, all of which turned out to be very transferable. Jamie also generously offered her insights as an employer and career coach by helping me edit my resume and cover letter and learn how best to analyze job postings. Overall, this was an excellent summer experience and I couldn't really have asked for anything more out of it.”
