About SECEP (Southeastern Educational Programs)

Do you have a passion to help make the world a better place?
Not sure what you are going to do after graduation?
Do you want meaningful work experiences?
Do you like working with children?

Part-time and full-time opportunities. We have unique training opportunities for college students, of all majors, that have an interest in working with children. Give us a minimum of 2 days/week, and we will provide a paid learning environment that provides training, support, and valuable “real world” experience.

Do you have a four-year college degree and a calling to work with special or alternative needs children? If so, sign up for one of our monthly Teacher Development Presentations. Contact 757-892-6100 ext. 1110 for the Zoom meeting link. We will show you how to become a fully licensed teacher while getting paid and trained as a professional educator through an alternative path to licensure.

SECEP serves over 1500 special education and alternative education students. SECEP is present in more than 85 schools. We staff over 150 classrooms in the Hampton Roads area—including the nationally recognized Renaissance Academy in Virginia Beach, home to 289,000 square feet of educational exhibits and high-tech learning space. All classroom and support staff are trained in behavioral support and crisis prevention strategies.

SECEP functions as a regional public school serving the Hampton Roads Communities of Chesapeake, Franklin, Isle of Wight, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Southampton, Suffolk and Virginia Beach.
