Field Engineer

Field Engineer

Job Summary: The Field Engineer supports the planning, execution, and completion of geotechnical instrumentation projects. This role involves overseeing the technical aspects of projects, assisting with installation, monitoring, and data analysis, and ensuring quality and compliance with project requirements.  The  Field Engineer is responsible from preparation of the project reports including project monitoring plans and data and evaluation reports.   

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Support: Assist with planning, scheduling, and budgeting for instrumentation projects.
  • Installation Coordination: Supervise field teams to support the installation of geotechnical instrumentation, ensuring proper setup, calibration, and functionality.
  • Technical Oversight: Review installation plans, monitor site conditions, and verify adherence to project specifications and safety standards.
  • Data Collection & Analysis: Collect and process data from sensors, support data quality control, and contribute to weekly monitoring reports.
  • Documentation: Maintain organized records of project activities, including installation logs, calibration reports, field notes and monitoring and pre/post construction reports.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Knowledge of data analysis software (e.g., Excel, Autocad; specialized geotechnical software is plus such from Bentley systems, Maxwell etc.).
  • Strong technical and organizational skills, with attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with team members and clients.
