Prevention Specialist Educator
Job Summary:
The Prevention Specialist Educator is an educator who will provide a safe, nurturing, and educational environment that encourages our students to become productive community members. The Prevention Specialist will run workshops and mentor individuals on fatherhood, Pathways to manhood, healthy relationships, and employment, helping them gain employability skills and foster healthy relationships
Training:
The Prevention Specialist Educator will undergo a comprehensive and intensive training program during the first month. This program is designed to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in your role. The training covers a wide range of topics, ensuring you are fully prepared to make a positive impact in our community.
During weeks 1 to 4 weeks, the Prevention Specialist Educator will:
- Shadow a current Coordinator in the after-school or online sessions.
- Begin co-teaching with the Coordinator's supervision
Essential Functions:
- Familiar with the state grant requirements.
- Ability to work with high promising youth in a school setting.
- Plan lesson plans and implement topics according to the curriculum and state grant objectives.
- Work closely and maintain positive relationships with school teachers and administration.
- Follow program procedures to safeguard all participants' health, safety, and well-being.
- Attend staff meetings or training sessions as scheduled.
- Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with personnel at partner locations.
- Understands how to follow and maintain attendance, quarterly reports, and intake records as required by the program.
- Reports and communicates weekly to the Program Coordinator.
- Attend community tabling events as assigned.
- Prepare to be assigned to other duties.

Preferred:
- Spanish speaking is a plus
- Education experience
